From Laundry Room to Media/Gaming Room

It’s back!  The One Room Challenge where 20 Featured Designer and 200+ Bloggers/Designers (that’s me!) take ONE room in their home and transform that space over 6 weeks!  6 weeks may seem like a lot of time but its really not since everyone brings their A game to the challenge and the makeovers are becoming bigger & better every year.

This is my fifth time taking the challenge.  The first time I redesigned our entryway.  The second time was our master bedroom including adding on a master en-suite, the third time was our family room  and last time was my son’s Sk8Park Bedroom.

I bought another fixer upper again, I know, and I have decided to transform the laundry room to a media/gaming room. It would not only be great for the boys to have a separate space for themselves and their friends to hang, it will definitely add value to the home when I’m ready to flip this house.

Here’s how the room looked when I bought it.

The To Do List:

  1. Move laundry room to basement
  2. Scrape popcorn ceiling
  3. Remove ceramic tiles
  4. Paint ceiling & walls
  5. Lay down laminate flooring
  6. Style room with furniture & accessories

I’m so syked!  I can’t wait.  Be sure to check out the featured 20 Designers who are participating here, and the other 200+ Designer|Bloggers (that’s me) here.

Debi-Collinson-Add-Value-to-your-HomeI’m Debi Collinson, a Designer. Stager. Real Estate Investor.  In 2006, at the request of a realtor, I staged my first home.  The sellers liked their newly redesigned home so much that they turned down an offer for full asking price.  I never looked back.  Since then, I have been helping clients make their homes look like they came out of a magazine. I have helped clients earn money for their home beyond their expectations.

I’m also a real estate investor.  I buy “fixer uppers” and either flip them for a healthy profit, or turn them into profitable rental properties. I’m currently living in my 8th “fixer upper.”  Come join me as I share my tips & secrets along the way.
