Perhaps you are at home much more than you use to be due to living in a pandemic. Are you working from home? Kids are being home schooled? Perhaps you’re living in a multi-generational home, where two + generations are living on one roof where its important to create inviting spaces for individuals or couples in which they can go to and unwind. Whatever the reason, you find yourselves on top of each other and you need more space!
The challenge with decorating nooks, is they usually get decorated with left over furniture or furniture that doesn’t really fit the space. Consequently, the space ends up not being utilized to its full potential and quite often the space looks quite awkward and gets under used as a result.
Decorating a nook with the correct size of furniture that fits the space makes the nook an inviting and well used space.
I’m Debi Collinson. Designer. Stager. Real Estate Investor. In 2006, at the request of a realtor, I staged my very first home. Staging houses was just starting to become popular. I was very nervous staging my first house, but the sellers liked their newly redesigned home so much that they turned down an offer for full asking price. I went back to design school and have never looked back. Since 2006, I have been staging & styling spaces to make them look like they belong in a magazine page, and buying “fixer uppers” to fix up & either sell for a healthy profit or to rent them out. I’m currently living in my 8th “fixer upper.” Sign up to receive my e-mails of how to make your home stunning, how to sell your house for top dollar AND how to become financially independent one fixer upper at a time!
